Using Our Time for What Matters Most

Time is the one resource we never get back. Most of our days are filled with sleep, work, chores, and leisure — and unless we’re intentional, our time gets consumed by routine rather than purpose.
Scripture calls us to redeem the time, live wisely, and use every opportunity for God’s glory. Loving God through worship, prayer, and Scripture — and loving others through service and compassion — is how we align our days with eternal significance.
Ecclesiastes reminds us that life is brief and full of changing seasons. It teaches us to enjoy simple gifts, embrace God’s timing, and live with an eternal perspective. Meaning isn’t found in chasing the world’s rewards but in fearing God and doing good while we have the chance.
Jesus’ Parable of the Talents shows that everything we have — time, abilities, opportunities, resources — is entrusted to us by God. The faithful servants act boldly; the fearful servant hides what he’s been given. The lesson is clear: God desires courageous, active stewardship, not passive preservation.
Faith trusts God’s character and invests in His Kingdom. Fear buries our gifts and keeps us from obedience.
In the end, the greatest failure isn’t doing too little — it’s doing nothing. Our lives, our talents, and our time belong to God. Using them for His purposes is how we step into His joy and participate in His work in the world.
