The Divine Purpose of Women in God’s Plan.

From the very beginning of my walk with Christ, I was blessed to be guided by great women leaders. Their patience, gentleness, and unwavering devotion reflected the very character of our Lord Jesus Christ. Looking back, I see how these women embodied a godly strength that nurtured my faith when I was still a babe in Christ.
It is no coincidence that women played such a profound role in the life and ministry of Jesus. At the crucifixion, while most of His disciples fled, it was women who remained faithfully by His side—except for John. And it was women who received the honor of being the first witnesses to the resurrected Christ, entrusted with proclaiming the greatest news the world has ever heard.
God’s Design in Creation
The Bible tells us that woman was created with divine intentionality. In Genesis 2:18, God declares: “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
This statement reveals several truths about the purpose of woman:
Companionship: Woman was created to address Adam’s solitude, bringing relational completeness.
Partnership: The Hebrew word ezer (helper) signifies strength and support. Remarkably, this same word is used to describe God Himself as Israel’s helper, showing that woman’s role is one of power and dignity, not inferiority.
Unity in Marriage: Genesis 2:24 emphasizes that man and woman are meant to become “one flesh,” symbolizing deep intimacy and shared life.
Equality in Worth: Both male and female were created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), affirming equal dignity and value.
Symbolic Meaning: Eve’s creation from Adam’s side has long been interpreted as a symbol of equality—she was not taken from his head to rule over him, nor from his feet to be trampled, but from his side to walk alongside him.
Theological Insights Beyond Genesis
The creation of woman was not an afterthought—it was the completion of humanity. Without woman, man was incomplete, and together they reflect the fullness of God’s design.
Completion of Creation: Woman’s creation brought balance and wholeness to humanity.
Reflection of God’s Image: Male and female together mirror the relational nature of God.
Purpose Beyond Marriage: Scripture highlights women in roles of leadership and service—Deborah as a judge, Esther as a deliverer, Mary as the mother of Jesus, and countless others who shaped the story of salvation.
A Personal Thankfulness
I want to take this opportunity to thank God for the women who have shaped my life and faith: my mother, grandmother, my youth pastor, and two other pastors who happen to be women. Each of them has played a vital role in helping me become the Christian man I am today. Their faithfulness, wisdom, and love have been living testimonies of God’s purpose for women in His kingdom.
